Este martes fueron llevados a su última morada los restos del comandante fundador del Cuerpo de Bomberos del estado Nueva Esparta, coronel Simón Flores Navas.

La institución bomberil emitió un acuerdo declarando tres días de duelo en su seno.

Los bomberos cumplieron guardia de honor junto al féretro, al ser llevado a la sede principal, enlamar, procedente de la funeraria Profacol.

El

politólogo Luis Beltrán López, entre tantos otros amigos de Flores Navas, manifestó su pesar este fallecimiento y al paso del cortejo fúnebre expresó: “Si hay alguien a quien se le debe tanto en Margarita, es a este señor”.

Aprovechó para proponer que la llamada “Calle del Hambre”, frente a los bomberos, sea bautizada la municipalidad de Mariño con el nombre de Simón Flores Navas. YE
